  • A fully automated seven-storey parking garage by the Swedish firm Skypark will accommodate 180 cars.
  • December, 1997: Plans approved for 45-storey tower addition to the Crowne Plaza Georgia Hotel but not built due to local hotel market conditions.
  • Project site is in behind the 12-floor Georgia Hotel.
  • June, 2002: 50-storeys (507 feet) plan is approved.
  • August 14, 2002: City council approves height increase to 600 feet; goes next to rezoning and public hearing, then back to council for development permit.
  • August 20, 2002: Bing Thom interviewed on top radio station in western Canada (CKNW) and support from callers was very positive in favour of the project.
  • December 6, 2002: Redesign submitted to city (higher floor-ceiling heights, less floors) as planning officials are opposed to 600-foot proposal.
  • January 29, 2003: Approved plans include 44 habitable floors atop 6 parking levels, and lobby, with another 7 parking levels underground.
  • As of April 2005, revised plans indicate a tower height of 511.6 feet and 44 floors above ground.
  • Plans were scrapped after developers deemed it unworkable, and Allied sold its interest to Goodman Real Estate in September 2005 for $65 million.
  • A new and complete application was submitted to the Urban Design Panel on December 6, 2006 as The Private Residences, filed by new owner and architect, effectively killing the 687 Howe application in its entirety.
