  • Tallest hotel in Montana.
  • Tallest building in Billings and in Montana from 1980 to 1985 until the completion of the First Interstate Center.
  • It was declared the tallest load-bearing brick masonry building in the world by the Brick Institute of America upon completion.
  • There were 2,372,982 bricks used in its construction. The bricks were made out of red clay that is found south of the city and formed in an 1869 kiln.
  • The elevator buttons show 23 stories, but it actually has 22 floors because there is no 13th floor in that count.
  • There is a restaurant on the 20th floor that has spectacular views of the mountains and the city.
  • Built on the site of the former Smith Building, which burned to the ground in 1976.
  • About 125 construction workers worked on the building.
  • Two doors set into the brick on the second floor open into thin air with no balcony. The origional blueprints show that the doors are for a future parking expansion.
  • The hotel has hosted four U.S. Presidents.
  • Features 16,000 square feet of meeting space.
