Fakten

  • When the building was completed in 1953, it was Germany's tallest office building.
  • The building was initially used as administrative headquarters of Hannover-based rubber manufacturer Continental.
  • Hannover University's Law, Economics and Humanities Faculties are currently installed here.
  • Floors 1-4 are connected to a low-rise wing streching to Wender-Arnd-Strasse.
  • The name of the building translates as "Conti Highrise" and is an affectionate referral to one of the city's major corporations.
  • Being located in the northwestern limits of the city's "Sculpture Mile", several artworks enrich the building's closest environs, including Ettore Sottsass' "Busstop" (1994), Brigitte Denninghoff's "Genesis" (1984), John Henry's "Symphony in Red" and Eugen Dodeigne's "Etüde".
  • Hannover University has been the building's only tenant since 1995.
  • There is a cafeteria open to the public on the 14th floor with exquisite views.
  • The "Conti-Campus", which includes the high-rise, is 20,000 square meters.
  • The southeast side of the building borders an old open cemetary (the Neustädter Friedhof).
  • Bei seiner Fertigstellung im Jahr 1953 war das Conti-Hochhaus Deutschlands höchstes Bürogebäude.
  • Located nearby the Allianz building.
