Fakten

  • Work stopped twice, once in November 2007 and again in February 2008, due to disagreements between the developer and the original general contractor. Flannery Construction was dismissed by the developer in March 2008 and replaced by Frerichs Construction.
  • The ground floor will contain a year-round facility for the St. Paul Farmer's Market. The largest seasonal market in the Twin Cities, the market operates during warm months on the block directly across Wall Street from this site.
  • Originally proposed in 2003 by Lander Sherman Urban Development, this project was abandoned in mid-2006 due to delays in purchasing the site and a slowdown in the local for-sale housing market.
  • The project was taken on by Sweeney Development in early 2007. The revised project includes somewhat smaller units at lower price points, increasing the total number of units from 41 to 48.
  • The developer, Brian Sweeney, dropped out of the project in July 2008, putting the development on uncertain footing, despite the completion of foundations and some of the basement columns.
