  • Originally 7 floors, an 8th floor was added in 1935.
  • In 1936, the Interior Department moved to the new Department of the Interior Building located directly to the south. The two buildings are connected by a tunnel running under Rawling Park and E Street NW.
  • It stands on a sloping site, rising 86 feet above F Street NW and 103 feet above E Street NW.
  • It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
