An earlier scheme, known as the New Fetter Lane Development, was granted consent in 2003. The scheme was designed to cater for a single large occupier, but as market conditions changed, it became clear that a scheme divided into smaller buildings would be more commercially successful.
The complex comprises four main buildings which vary in height from 17 down to 6-storeys.
New Street Square itself delivers 64,744 sq m (696,895 sq ft) net space of which 2,429 sq m (28,795 sq ft) is retail.
The complex is bounded by Bartlett Court, Pemberton Row, West Harding Street and New Fetter Lane.
